Are Only A Select Few Chosen To Be Healers?

I can sum it up in three words: No way Jose!

From my journey I have come to know that we are ALL healers. Every single last one of us. You’re a healer, I’m a healer, your grandma is a healer, your dog is a healer, and yes, even “Karens” are healers.

I know you don’t know me from Adam and I am taking a risk at sounding pretty darn preachy on my first blog post for KarmaHuBB, but it is important to me to share a message of self-empowerment right out of the gate. So, I’m going full on soap box with this one.

Anyone claiming to heal another person is completely full of Shit. Period. No one has that much power over another. It defies the law of free will and Mother Nature isn’t having any of that.

Years ago, I took a yoga class to help with some chronic neck tension I was experiencing. As I got to know the teacher and the other students in the class, I came to see that the students saw the teacher as some type of guru. They flocked to him and hung on his every word. The buzz around the gossip circle was that he was a “healer” and even cured one woman of cancer! This never really sat well with me as I could tell he was a bit of a blowhard, but I chose to like him anyway. The information he taught us was Grade A and it helped my neck feel a whole lot better. I still use some of the stretches to this day.

While he did know his yoga poses and taught them very well, he ended up being a creep. A creep that liked the attention he got from the ladies if you catch my drift. So, long story short, he was eventually asked to leave the studio.

This was a big lesson for me. I saw that I had picked up on his “vibe”, but I also saw he had intelligent information to share. From this experience I learned to trust my intuition and discernment just a little more because my initial feelings were correct. I took the instruction he gave me and healed my neck on my own. He did not heal me. He enabled my healing by giving me the power of the knowledge that he knew.

From this, I came to see that a healer can only facilitate another’s healing.  And if they are a good healer, they know this. The practitioners and teachers here on KarmaHuBB are all healers to the extent that they have pioneered and polished an extensive variety of interesting therapeutic modalities to help facilitate, assist, manage, enable, allow, permit, authorize, achieve, promote, or support a space for you to do your own personal healing. It is a co-collaboration of one person helping another person gain relief from something that is bothering them. At the end of the day, it is your decision whether to heal or not to heal.

My intension with this forum is to simply tell creative stories about the experiences I’ve had along the way on my own spiritual journey and hope they resonate and entertain. We are all healers in our own way and learning that you are one is the first step to putting you back into the driver’s seat where you belong.
